May 19 Amsterdam

We gave Amsterdam a second chance. This time, with the advice of our friends, we managed to see cool streets, canals, and plazas avoiding the centre of the town and we enjoyed it better. We visited the Rijyk Museum and walked for many miles. We came across a large street market, galleries and tons of bicycles.

Bicycle parking lot near the train station

We saw few people riding up and down in this, two floor parking lot, looking for a spot to park their bikes.

At the markets in Amsterdam, one can buy green lollipops. It looks like they only come in one flavour.

Bikes are parked everywhere.

One of our favourite paintings at the museum.

Outch! A screaming child being stung by a bee. Carved in wood.

A ceramic tulip pyramid. Tulips are placed in the little spouts.

An old fasion library in the museum that is still used as a studio.

A blue heron on the canal.

One last look of Amsterdam.

We took a train to Bruxelles and as soon as we got off the train, we smelled chocolate and waffles. We looked at each other and said: "mmm" this is going to be great!

A lecturum carved in wood in a church in Bruxelles.

The blue flowers had the most wonderful smell.

A new sign on an old building.

We liked the architecture in Bruxelles.

Somebody is watching us. Do you see the eyes in the sky too?
At the Grote Markt or Grand Plaza in Bruxelles.

Yoly says, I had to try the waffles to see what the fuss was all about.
