All the people were nice to us and the food was english. Great big full english breakfasts and fish and chips in the pub. Turns out there are lots of things to see here. This part of the trip should have gotten a lot more research than it did. Seems like we might be missing the best bits just around the bend.

There are certain restrictions when climbing the top of the tower. The width of the door at the first level is one of them.
Good old Constantine the Great, freed the Christians to worship as well as not restricting other religions from practicing there religions. His son Constantine the not so great made Catholicism the only religion everyone else was persecuted.
Like these curl cakes
Just prepare the sweet dough and curl it around on a thick wooden dowel and roll it on sugar and almond, then bake it for a couple of minutes. Et voilà! A delicious medieval treat.
Box pews in an old church, I think they are more common in North America, this is the first we have seen in Europe.
The wall walks is one of the highlights in York. There are three remaining large parts of the original wall that once protected the city.
By George!! We have found George the cat. He is well settled and surrounded by toys, comfy chairs and many visitors at the York Castle museum.
Le Tour de France starts in York this year. This is an excellent beer to commemorate the event.

A Japanese bullet train. It was once the fastest train in the world, currently the french have the record with one of theirs.
